Don't eat at IHOP

Well , we certainly had a morning to remember! Just yesterday Marty was saying "how will I get thru work today, I can't wait for Sat. HA!

We had plans to take our kids to IHOP - I had a coupon and we thought it would be fun to take the kids for pancakes. Then we were going to wander around Costco, picking out a b-day gift for Lee (marty's dad) and just dilly dally for a bit- maybe get some fun snacks and such (We love Costco). This is how our day plays out....

#1 Marty goes down to get Liam out of his crib and he had exploded out of his diaper in the night...poop everywhere.! So - rip off the sheets, wipe down Liam, start a load of laundry...

#2 I am trying to get Charlie nursed so we can head out the door for b-fast and I pick him up to burp him- splash! He purges everything he had just consumed. I don't mean a little spit up- I mean projectile vomiting. It went ALL over the front of me, Charlie, and our sheets. I quickly change and throw additional things into the load of laundry already started. I wipe myself down cuz I'm in a hurry and will shower later.

#3 We are at IHOP... a lady comes by our table making -fun balloons, we say- sure the kids would love one. I had no idea you tip these people. She goes on for a while humoring the kids making them 2 balloon characters each and giggles consistently. We tell her thanks and she stands their expectantly ...Marty pulls out the cash and hands her a 5 dollar tip! what the? (I guess it was the only cash he had) We then order our food and I hand her the coupon once the food arrives. She says "oh , that won't work with what you ordered." whoops. 40 buckaroos' on breakfast ...wow, we didn't plan on that!

#4 We are in Costco roaming around ...enjoying a minute of calmness and out of nowhere... spray! Liam pukes EVERYWHERE ...then he takes a deep breath and spews again! All over him, all down the cart, all over the floor below and all over a book we were letting him look at while we walked around the store. I didn't have any wipes in my purse so I grab Charlie's burp rag and start wiping Liam down. I go tell a store worker. No one shows up for minutes...Marty goes to tell another worker...again no one shows to clean it up. Marty decides to take Liam to the car (at this point Liam is balling) and takes Charlie with him too (Charlie has now decided he is starving and is crying that unnerving newborn cry.) Marty drags Liam out by the hand (he doesn't want to carry him since he's covered in smelly slime) and carrying a screaming car seat in the other. I am sure he got stares. Finally someone shows up with a mop. I apologize profusely and take the cart to the bathroom to wipe it down. I buy the items we had picked out thus far- and the book that was covered in throw up. On my way out I ask for some lysol spray to sterilize the cart and the worker sees me throw the book away...needless to say he replaced it with a new one for me (it's some dumb Bambi book that I would never buy otherwise). I think he felt really bad for the way I looked about now.

#4 Get home- start another load of laundry with Liams wet clothing, throw Liam into the tub and immediately plug Charlie in .... maybe things will calm down a bit...maybe we should have just stayed in bed today.

Conclusion: What we thought would be a fun/ relaxing sort of day has really started off wrongly. I gave Liam the book once we got home...(he well earned it I think) and Ruby asked "why didn't we get the princess book I was looking at?" my reply "well you didn't throw up on it", "maybe you'll think about that next time we're out shopping"...

I don't know if I can ever eat at IHOP again....my food wasn't bad -I got the stuffed frech toast (in your honor Jami) - but I have felt slightly nauseous since leaving Costco and I can't kick it.

FLASH

Snapshots of Charlie.... Thanks Heidi for snapping these with me in our little make-shift photo studio. he he

now don't start wondering who the father is...yes, it is Marty, not Edward. The sun hit his skin thru the window and I thought for a moment after looking at the photo that his skin was shimmering - if you look closely. That sparkle may have come from my lip gloss and the fact that I kept kissing him so much to make him happy.... but ya never know - maybe he does have a little vampire blood running thru his veins....

nothing cuter than baby feet...wouldn't you agree?

love the facials on these guys...

monkey bread and hot chocolate for breakfast...talk about a sugar high on christmas morning...maybe thats why Charlie had his problem with low blood glucose the next morning when he was born!
the morning of Dec. 26th...I was dilated to about an 8 in this picture...hence the grimaced smile...and the hard grip on the countertop...
The night we got home from the hospital...our house was a complete wreck! All of Christmas was EVERYWHERE and our house is small anyway ...let a bomb go off and then bring home a new baby with all the additional baby things and you know it's time to move into something bigger. Before I had a break-down and cried...I quickly got busy cleaning/organizing and put all of Christmas decor and tree AWAY!

it's not a great picture of all three of them...(wow-3 is alot!) but it's amazing to see how BIG Liam is all of a sudden ....he is huge to me with Charlie next to him...
Who says you can't kiss your baby's mouth! Ah well...if he gets my oral bacteria...I can't help it, they're just so kissable.

Grandpa Lee- doing the baby dance.!
Ruby is this guy's second Mom and on some occasions his first...she is SUCH a big help, esp. when I am sitting helpless in my 'nursing seat' and can't move to get anything or help Liam.
